Friday April 14th at 2:00 will be our turn for Lower School Assembly!! We will be focusing our performance on the Matter and Materials unit under the transdisciplinary theme: How we Organize Ourselves. Please encourage your chid to practice singing the song Science is Real by They Might Be Giants. We have been practicing for over a month, so they know the song well, but here is a link to the video, which they have been watching in class during snack time: https://vimeo.com/5377031
Here is a copy of the lyrics – we reviewed tricky words and the meaning of the song, so be sure to ask your child about what it means! Science is Real by They Might Be Giants
Please also check out the pictures section of this blog! Lots of great pictures of kids at work and social events like: Thinking Routines around math, our field trip around the neighborhood, book character day, and student led conferences!
A Message from Ms. Macosky:
Thursday, May 25th is spring performance day in the Lower School! First, at 10AM, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 students will perform a collection of songs about growing up and changing the world in a concert called “Big Dreams!” At 1:30PM, Grades 2-5 will sing, dance, and act in the musical “Jukebox Time Machine,” a tour through some of the greatest pop hits of all time. You’re sure to recognize a few!
Students are encouraged to practice at home, and can find all songs, lyrics, and speaking parts on my class website: https://teachersh.scis-his.net/rmacoskey/
Please join us to celebrate the growth of our students this year. We hope to see you there!
